U.S. Attorney's Office

A former Columbus vice officer has pleaded not guilty to a nine-count federal indictment for obstructing justice and destroying potential evidence that impaired the FBI’s investigation.

Andrew Mitchell previously pleaded not guilty to charges of forcing women into sex acts under the threat of arrest. His trial is scheduled for September 15. Mitchell also faces state charges of murder and manslaughter for the fatal shooting of Donna Castleberry during a sting.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
