Former Cop Pleads Not Guilty To Reckless Homicide In Andre Hill Shooting

The fired Columbus police officer accused of killing Andre Hill pleaded not guilty to an additional charge of reckless homicide Wednesday.

The charge against Adam Coy was filed last week. That indictment will be folded in with charges of murder and felonious assault that were filed against Coy in February. The prosecution dropped two charges of dereliction of duty.

Coy was indicted on four charges in February. Columbus officials cited incompetence and “gross neglect of duty” when the white officer was fired less than a week after killing the black man in December.

Coy's next court date is scheduled for June 7th. The judge Wednesday maintained Coy's $1 million bond.
