Former NBA and Ohio State great John Havlicek died Thursday at his Florida home at the age 79.
The cause of death wasn't immediately available. The Boston Globe reports he had Parkinson's disease. Havlicek was drafted by the Boston Celtics in the first round in 1962, and the team won NBA championships in his first six years. He was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History and enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1984. At Ohio State, Havlicek helped lead the Buckeyes to the 1960 national championship.
