Ginther To Sign Order Requiring Police-Involved Deaths Be Independently Investigated

columbus.gov

No arrests or property damage are reported out of the 15th straight day of police brutality protests in Columbus on Thursday.

The sizes of the demonstrations are smaller than those that happened last week. Columbus Mayor Andy Ginther says he will sign an executive order requiring all police-involved deaths be investigated by the state. Columbus City Council plans to pass an ordinance codifying the order at the end of the month. He says outside investigators will help build public trust. Its part of implementing the Columbus Community Safety Advisory Commission’s recommendations.
