Google Getting Tax Breaks To Build Data Center In New Albany

New Albany City Council  is offering a 15-year, 100 percent property tax abatement to a Google subsidiary to build a 600 million dollar data center in the city's business park.

On Monday, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved 43.5 million dollars in tax breaks for the project. Google would join Amazon and Facebook in having data centers in the region because of ideal weather conditions and smaller risks of flooding or earthquakes.
