Groundbreaking Deputy Sheriff Passes Away

A pioneering member of the Franklin County Sheriff's Department has died.

The family of Glenda Sharon Weber says she had passed away on November 28th at the age of 72.  Weber joined the department in 1981, was the first-ever female deputy to serve on Franklin County's Tactical Entry Team, and retired in 1994.  A funeral will be held today at Livingston United Methodist Church, followed by a burial at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
