Health Officials Investigating Several COVID-19 Cases in Oxford

Butler County health officials are tracing contacts of several Miami University students after a COVID-19 surge.  

The health department says several off-campus gatherings of Miami students were reported between May 8-16, followed by several coronavirus cases.  University leaders are encouraging those students to come forward and assist the investigation.

Ohioans can call the Ohio Department of Health COVID-19 hotline with any questions or visit health.bcohio.us/ or coronavirus.ohio.gov. The call center is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 1-833-4-ASKODH (1-833-427-5634). More details can be found in the Butler County General Health District's news release.

The number of confirmed and probable deaths associated with the coronavirus in Ohio nears 2,000. The Ohio Department of Health says there have been 1,987 coronavirus-related deaths since the pandemic began.

The state health department yesterday also reported 32,477 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases in Ohio, up 566 from Sunday. Officials will have another update at today's 2 p.m. press conference.
