Hearing Officer Rules There Is Just Cause To Fire CCS Principal

Columbus City Schools

The Columbus school board will soon follow through on plans to fire a principal at the center of the district's attendance data-rigging scandal.  A hearing officer yesterday ruled there is just cause to terminate former Linden-McKinley STEM Academy Principal Tiffany Chavers, citing evidence that she knowingly cheated to improve the school's academic record. The officer says Chavers un-enrolled students who failed state exams and changed failing grades to passing for others. Chavers and former Marion-Franklin principal Pamela Diggs have filed a wrongful termination lawsuit.
