IG: Millions In State Contracts Improperly Laundered Through Columbus Company

The Ohio Inspector General's office says more than 12 million dollars in state contracts were improperly laundered through a shell company to benefit a group of companies.

Nearly 12.3 of 15.8 million dollars Columbus-based TSG Partners received in state contracts for information-technology work from 2015 to 2017 went to Advocate Consulting Group and Advocate Solutions. The Department of Administrative Services wrongly granted TSG Partners minority-business enterprise designation. The IG's report recommends that state officials consider banning TSG Partners and the related Advocate companies from receiving state contracts. Advocate Solutions says events mentioned in the report happened before its current leadership assumed their roles. TSG Partners have yet to comment.
