January Ohio Jobless Rate Unchanged From Revised December Figures

Ohio's unemployment rate was 5.1 percent in January, matching the revised rate for December. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services says the December rate was initially reported to be 4.8 percent, but was revised based on more detailed data. The number of unemployed workers rose by 1 thousand in January to 293 thousand. Jobs increased in the trade, transportation and utility sector, as well as in private education and healthcare. The government sector had a loss of 82 hundred jobs. The U.S. unemployment rate released this morning is at 5.7 percent.
