Jury Rules Against DuPont In Test C8 Case

A federal jury in Columbus has awarded a Guysville woman who got cancer after drinking water contaminated by the chemical C-8 that was released from a DuPont plant on the Ohio River 1.6 million dollars. The lawsuit by Carla Bartlett is one of two test cases that could influence thousands of similar lawsuits against the firm. They allege DuPont long knew about C-8 risks but downplayed or hid them from the public. C8 is a chemical used to make teflon. DuPont says it will appeal.
