Kasich Says No Animosity With POTUS

Associated Press

Ohio Governor John Kasich says there is no animosity between him and President Trump, his former campaign rival.

Kasich said after a White House meeting on Friday that now that Trump is the president, "it's sort of like being on an airplane. You want to root for the pilot." Kasich says he shared his ideas on potential changes to the Affordable Care Act with Trump during the meeting. Ohio is among 31 states that expanded Medicaid under the law and Kasich says Trump "listened very carefully to what I had to say about it and had a very positive response." Kasich also told reporters he and his team met with top White House officials to offer suggestions on ways to change the ACA.

Kasich is also in Washington D.C. for a weekend of meetings at the National Governors Association and the Republican Governors Association.
