A medal of appreciation from the Korean government to U.S. military service members who served in the Korean War will be presented to veterans of that conflict at a July 19th ceremony at the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Dayton. The deputy consul general of the Korean Consulate of Chicago is presenting the Ambassador Medal for Peace. Veterans who served in Korea or on Korean waters from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953, who are unable to attend the ceremony may obtain a medal later by applying to the Korean Consulate General in Chicago.
