Lawsuit Filed In Connection With Carbon Monoxide Deaths Of Local Family Members

Relatives of a Genoa Township family killed by carbon monoxide poisoning in 2019 have filed a lawsuit against Navien, the company that made the water heater that led to their poisonings.

The suit filed by relaties of the Reitter family also names Carr Supply, the Columbus company that sold the water heater. Police have said the exhaust pipe on top of the hot water heater was slightly dislodged. The lawsuit says the defendants should have known about requirements that certified technicians should install heaters and products were sold to people who are not qualified. The defendants have yet to comment.
