Lobbyist And Former State Official Indicted For Bribery

A former Deputy State Treasurer and a Columbus lobbyist have been indicted on charges of engaging in a bribery scheme during the tenure of former Democratic Treasurer Kevin Boyce.Amer Ahmad and bank lobbyist Mohammed Noure Alo face multiple charges. Ahmad's relationship to Alo figured heavily in the 2010 treasurer's race, which former Columbus City Council member Boyce lost to Republican Josh Mandel. A Mandel ad and Republican mailers emphasized the lobbyist's first name and suggested he and Boyce attended the same mosque, though Boyce is Christian.
