Local Jobless Rate For March Down From February

Central Ohio's unemployment rate is now 4.4 percent, down by a tenth of a point from February. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services credits the decline to more local hiring, with 55 hundred positions filled in March. The region has the lowest unemployment rate among the state's metropolitan areas. Delaware and Union are among seven counties with rates at or below 4 percent.The rate for Columbus and Franklin County is 4.3 percent.
