Central Ohio's recycling rate is now 49 percent, according to newly-released figures from the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio.
The authority says the rate is a record for the region and 15 percent higher than the national average. SWACO credits community education efforts, curbside recycling in communities, and more people composting. The goal is to raise the rate to 75 percent by 2032.
