Local Resident Starts Petition To Bring OHP Troopers Back From North Dakota

change.org

A Columbus woman had started a petition drive to bring back the 37 Ohio Highway Patrol troopers sent by Governor John Kasich to North Dakota to provide security. Protestors have been holding demonstrations over the Dakota Access Pipeline. So far, Cathy Cowan has gathered more than 26-thousand signatures. She says troopers should be protecting people, not a pipeline. Cincinnati's city council members signed a letter this week urging Kasich to bring the troopers home. President Obama says says the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is examining whether the pipeline can be rerouted off of native lands.
