Local leaders and activists are condemning an event that took place over the weekend on Sawmill Road by members of the group the Proud Boys.
The Proud Boys are listed by the Southern Poverty Law Center as an extremist group which aligns themselves with white nationalists. Video of the group shows two dozen men walking up and down Sawmill Saturday holding various political flags including one used during the violent Charlottesville rally two years ago. The group walked for around 90 minutes before dispersing without incident.
