The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says more than 200 thousand Ohioans have signed up for coverage during the current enrollment period under the Affordable Care Act as of last Friday. Spokesperson Kathleen Falk:
Nearly 33 thousand people in the Columbus area enrolled. 84 percent of those signing up in the first two months of open enrollment were eligible for financial assistance. Nearly 7.5 million Americans in the 37 states where the insurance markets are operating have signed up. Open enrollment for the federal insurance marketplace ends February 15. Supporters of the law are making their final push to enroll Ohioans before the deadline.
