Columbus Public Health officials are spraying for mosquitoes today and Wednesday. 25 parks got treatments early this morning. 20 other parks will be treated tomorrow. Officials are trying to protect the public from mosquitoes that carry the West Nile virus and encephalitis. There were 121 reported cases of West Nile virus and seven deaths in Ohio last year, down from 21 cases and one death in 2011. Local health officials say they will make weekly assessments through September for spraying in neighborhoods.
