Mount Carmel West Facility Moving To Grove City

wikipedia

Mount Carmel West hospital is moving a facility to Grove City. Hospital officials say they'll move their inpatient facility from Franklinton. Plans call for the construction of a 355-million-dollar, 210-bed hospital.  The current facility will be renovated to become an outpatient health center with a 24-hour emergency department.  As many as 15-hundred jobs will move out of Columbus when the new hospital opens in 2018 as part of an overall 711 million dollar investment at Mount Carmel’s West, East and Grove City campuses. At least 2 million dollars in income tax revenue will move from Columbus to Grove City. Mount Carmel president and CEO Claus von Zychlin says the changing demographics of the area are behind the Grove City move.

The restructuring will leave the Mount Carmel West campus with 300 jobs and a 24-hour emergency department, a College of Nursing, and a Community Health Resource Center.
