A Fairfield County judge has sentenced Walnut Township fiscal officer Lynn Kraner to sixty days in jail and ordered her to resign by the end of October for unlawfully recommending her sister for a job in the township.

The sentencing was announced in a news release from the state auditor's office. The 62-year-old Kraner pleaded guilty to having an unlawful interest in a public contract. Her sister worked part time as assistant to the fiscal officer and as a zoning secretary from 2014 to 2016.
