New Online Map Shows Locations Of Ohio Oil And Gas Drilling Sites

Toxic emissions from oil and gas wells are linked to negative health effects such as respiratory ailments, cancer and fetal defects. A new map created by the environmental group Earthworks shows the locations of more than 90 thousand oil and gas operations in Ohio, and their proximity to neighborhoods, schools and hospitals. The map shows nearly 3 million Ohioans, or roughly 25 percent of the population, lives within a half-mile radius of active gas and oil wells, compressors, or processor stations.  The map is available online at 'oilandgasthreatmap.com.'
