There will soon be a new police chief in Westerville.
Officials say interim co-chief Charles Chandler has been given the job on a permanent basis. Westerville city council will confirm his appointment on Tuesday. Chandler, who is a 24-year law enforcement veteran, is scheduled to officially begin his duties on August 18. Joe Morbitzer left earlier this year to take over the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.
