Newspaper Goes To Court Over Coingate Report

The Toledo Blade is asking the Ohio Supreme Court to force the release of an investigative report on the Coingate investment scandal of 2005. Ohio Inspector General Randall Meyer pledged two years ago to complete the report on the investigation into the scandal involving former Toledo-area coin dealer and Republican party fundraiser Tom Noe. The IG has yet to comment on the Blade's move. Noe was convicted of stealing from a rare coin fund he oversaw for the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation. The scandal led to the ethics conviction of then-Governor Bob Taft.
