Due to potential inclement weather today, officials at the Memorial Tournament in Dublin are moving up the pro-am tee times and honoree ceremony.
The pro-am began at 7 this morning with a group featuring Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning. The honoree ceremony featuring Hale Irwin will begin at 12:30. The opening round begins Thursday with another stellar field, says tournament founder Jack Nicklaus.
For the first two days of the tournament, Jason Day, Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy will play together, as will major champions Jordan Spieth, Bubba Watson and Phil Mickelson. Defending Memorial champ Jason Dufner will play with five-time winner Tiger Woods and Olympic gold medalist Justin Rose. World number-one Justin Thomas will be paired with Masters champ Patrick Reed and Rickie Fowler.
In his tournament preview press conference, Nicklaus touched on a variety of topics. In this exchange, he offers some interesting perspective on Tiger Woods, who returns to the Memorial for the first time since 2015.
