Ohio Couple Settles Embryo-Related Lawsuit Against UH

A Cleveland-area couple who sued a University Hospitals fertility clinic where more than 4,000 eggs and embryos were destroyed have settled their lawsuit.

Rick and Wendy Penniman were among more than 100 people who sued  after a storage tank's freezer malfunction in 2018. The couple claimed their embryos were living persons and should have been treated as patients. A court ruled frozen embryos aren't persons.  The settlement terms weren't made public.
