Ohio Group Responds To Trump's Anti Muslim Rhetoric

An Islamic civil rights group in Ohio is coming with strong language against Donald Trump’s rhetoric on the presidential campaign trail.

As Statehouse correspondent Andy Chow reports -- the group says Trump is generating fear.

Romin Iqbal is with Ohio’s Council on American-Islamic Relations, also known as CAIR. He says Trump’s call for a ban of Muslims traveling to the U.S. is deplorable and has no place in any society.

He says Trump’s words, and his influence over his supporters, have the ability to make Americans feel unsafe because of their religious beliefs.

Iqbal: “Nobody wants to be in a position where your fellow citizens do not trust you as a group and if you’re a part of that group certainly there’s a lot of fear which is generated by these statements.”

CAIR has condemned the recent attacks in Paris and San Bernardino as not representative of Islam or Muslims.
