Ohio Man Charged In Charlottsville Attack Pleads Not Guilty To Hate Crimes

Associated Press

The Maumee man charged with driving a car into a crowd of protesters at a white nationalist rally in Virginia last year has pleaded not guilty to federal hate crime charges.

James Fields Junior was charged last week with 30 counts for the attack that killed 32-year-old Heather Heyer and injured dozens of others. He also is charged under Virginia law with murder and other crimes. Fields says he is being treated for bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression and ADHD.
