The Jordanian citizen who was living the Dayton area has been convicted of attempting to join the Islamic State to fight the Syrian leadership.
28-year-old Laith Alebbini was arrested last year at the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Airport trying to fly to Turkey or Jordan before joining with Islamic State fighters in Syria. Sentencing is pending.
