Ohio Military Members Delivering Meals To Haiti

The 445th Airlift Wing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton leaves today to deliver meals from a nonprofit group to residents of Haiti. The 541 thousand meals include dried and sealed food packets. Base officials say the food is provided by Kids Against Hunger, a faith-based group in Cincinnati. Base officials say it is part of a program that allows U.S. based non-governmental sources to transport humanitarian aid at little or no cost. It also puts extra space on U.S. military transport equipment to good use.  The program is administered by the U.S. Agency for International Development and the departments of State and Defense.
