The operator of Ohio's two nuclear power plants is seeking to toss out its collective bargaining agreement with the union representing workers at the Perry plant as part of its bankruptcy reorganization.

That's according to a union filing in the bankruptcy case of FirstEnergy Solutions. Ohio lawmakers recently approved a bill raising customer rates to help keep Perry and the Davis-Besse plants online. Backers of the bill said it would save good-paying jobs. A petition drive has been launched in an effort to have voters in November of next year overturn the bill.
