Ohio Players Keyboardist And Lyricist Passes Away

The music world is mourning the death of a founding member of the Dayton-based Ohio Players.  Walter "Junie" Morrison died Thursday at the age of 62.  No word on the cause of death. Morrison joined the legendary funk band as a keyboard player after graduating from Roosevelt High School, writing four of their biggest hits.  He's a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's class of 1997.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
