Ohio Senate Won't Pass Payday Lending Crackdown Before Summer Break

Republican Ohio Senate President Larry Obhoff tells the Associated Press the chamber will not pass a payday lending bill before breaking for the summer.

Obhof says his chamber needs more time to complete its work. Obhof said he'll add session dates in September and possibly July and August. The House passed the bill June 7.  Former Republican Ohio House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger resigned in April amid an FBI probe of his travel with payday lending lobbyists.
