Ohio Task Force One is being activated to assist in Hurricane support operations as Delta approaches the Gulf Coast.
The unit began preparing yesterday and will send 47 members of its 84-person statewide team to Louisiana to help where relief efforts are needed.
Ohio Task Force One is part of FEMA's 28 Urban Search and Rescue teams and specializes in fast water rescue and working in collapsed structures.
FEMA also deployed the Ohio unit during Hurricane Matthew in 2016 and Hurricane Laura earlier this year.
