OHP Reports Decline In Independence Day Holiday Traffic Deaths

The Ohio Highway Patrol says 12 people were killed in 12 traffic crashes during the Fourth of July holiday reporting period.

That's down from eight deaths in four crashes last year. Drug or alcohol impairment was a factor in at least three crashes from July 3 through 7 of this year. Troopers made 709 impaired driving arrests and 507 drug-related busts. They responded to 809 crashes.
