The U.S. Army will be led by a Centerville native.

The U.S. Senate voted last night to confirm President Obama's nomination of Eric Fanning as Secretary of the Army, making him the first openly gay leader of a military branch. Fanning graduated from Centerville High School in 1986. He was a top advisor to the Army secretary and undersecretary of the U.S. Air Force before spending six months as acting Air Force secretary.
