OU Frat Denies Responsibility For Death Of Dublin Student

legacy.com

An Ohio University fraternity has responded to a lawsuit filed by the family of a Dublin student who died in an alleged hazing incident.

The Sigma Pi fraternity denies responsibility for the death of 18-year-old Collin Wiant, and says he was not a pledge at the time of his death last November. The frat says Wiant was suspended a month before his death after learning police were investigating him for sexual assault. Ohio University police closed that probe after his death. An autopsy determined Wiant died of asphyxiation due to nitrous oxide ingestion. The chapter remains closed.
