Ohio University students have alleged forced excessive drinking, stripping, and grueling exercise, as well as long periods of confinement, during an investigation into hazing.

The university in Athens has lifted or modified the suspensions of 16 fraternities and sororities amid allegations that surfaced earlier this month. Some are still under a cease and desist order. Still under a cease and desist order are Beta Theta Pi, Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Kappa Psi, Sigma Chi, the Men's Rugby club, and the marching band. Those with restrictions are  Pi Kappa Phi, Alpha Kappa Psi, ACACIA, Phi Chi Theta, Alpha Epsilon Pi, Theta Chi, Pi Beta Phi, Delta Zeta, and Chi Omega. Restrictions have been lifted conditionally for  Delta Upsilon and Sigma Phi Epsilon. All restrictions have been lifted for Phi Gamma Delta, Phi Delta Theta, Pi Kappa Alpha, Phi Kappa Tau, and Delta Tau Delta. No criminal charges have been filed.
