Fairfield County health officials are investigating a pertussis outbreak. More than 50 cases have been reported since late September, with most involving high school-aged children. 19 cases were reported for all of last year. The source of the outbreak has yet to be determined. Health officials say hand and surface washing can keep the disease at bay.
