Police: Call To Water Department Led To OU Shooting Probe

Village of Mount Orab

Mount Orab police chief Bryan Mount says a phone call to the village water department led to an investigation into a possible shooting at Ohio University on Tuesday. Mount says the caller claimed to have shot his mother and gave an address in Athens. Mount  directed a dispatcher to notify authorities, not realizing the address was an Ohio University dormitory. Police believe the call was made from a computer, making it untraceable. No evidence of a shooting was found.
