Possible Case of Coronavirus Investigated In Ohio

The Ohio Department of Health is reporting another suspected case of the Coronavirus in the state, but is not confirming who or where.

Samples from the person have been sent to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for testing and results are expected Thursday afternoon.  A department spokesperson says the local health department is monitoring the individual and the people they have been in contact with. The state is trying to balance the need to protect people from the virus with individuals' privacy rights. Two suspected cases of the virus at Miami University recently tested negative.

A native of Chicago, naturalized citizen of Cincinnati and resident of Columbus, Alison attended Earlham College and the Ohio State University. She has equal passion for Midwest history, hockey and Slavic poetry.
