Power Out At LeVeque Tower; Workers Evacuated

LeVeque Tower in downtown Columbus is without power at this hour.

American Electric Power says power to the 47-floor office building went down around 2 this afternoon, as AEP was upgrading equipment in the building.  Office workers in the building were evacuated by 4:30pm.  AEP officials say it's not clear what caused the fault, but they hope to have power back on in the building by this evening, after building owners' electricians investigate the cause of the outage.  LeVeque Tower is the site of WCBE's transmitter; the power outage caused the loss of signal this afternoon.
