Presidents Cup Players Chosen

Jordan Spieth began the season without status on any tour. The rookie pro golfer will end it by playing in the Presidents Cup in Dublin this fall. Fred Couples used his captain's picks on 20-year-old Spieth and Webb Simpson to fill out the 12-man American team, which includes Tiger Woods, Jason Dufner and Phil Mickelson. Spieth will become the youngest American to play in the Presidents Cup. Couples chose Spieth over Jim Furyk and Dustin Johnson. Furyk had been on every American team since 1997. Couples explains his decision.

International team captain Nick Price selected Brendon de Jonge of Zimbabwe and Marc Leishman of Australia. Neither has played in the Presidents Cup. Price passed over Tim Clark of South Africa.
