Prosecutor: Five Cincinnati Council Members Won't Face Dereliction Of Duty Charges

wlwt.com

Republican Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters says no dereliction of duty charges will be filed against five current and former Democratic Cincinnati City Council members.

Deters says the special prosecutor in the case believes charges are not warranted.  Tamaya Dennard, P.G. Sittenfeld, Greg Landsman, Chris Seelbach and Wendell Young admitted they met in private and exchanged text messages about public business, in apparent violation of  state open meetings law.  But Deters says other charges may be filed.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
