Prosecutors Reach Plea Deal With Indicted Former Cincinnati Council Member

Former Cincinnati City Council member Tamaya Dennard has reached a plea deal with prosecutors on a fraud charge.

Federal prosecutors say Dennard has agreed to plead guilty to an honest wire fraud charge.   Prosecutors say Dennard offered to help a law firm's client with favorable votes in exchange for 15 thousand dollars last year, and she quickly spent more than 4 thousand on a trip for two to Florida. The guilty plea carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison.  Dennard is also one of five current or former council members who admitted violating Ohio's open meetings law by conducting city business via text messages.
