Protestors Arrested At Portman's Columbus Office

16 opponents of the U.S. Senate Republican health care were arrested Friday outside of the Columbus offices of Republican U.S. Senator Rob Portman of Ohio. Columbus police say protesters blocked emergency crews trying to reach someone with chest pains in the Huntington Building on West Broad Street. Police say on Twitter the protesters, all from out of state, volunteered to be arrested. Charges include criminal protest. Portman spokesperson Emily Benavides says building security called police when protesters impeded other tenants. A spokesperson for the activists says officers told them building officials chose to put the property on lockdown. Paramedics were unable to find anyone in distress. 15 of the protestors are disabled.   About a dozen people continued a protest in Portman's Cincinnati office Friday. Portman has said more changes are needed to a proposed Senate health care plan if it is to win his support.
