PUCO Wants To Know If FirstEnergy Spent Customer Money On Nuclear Plant Bailout Law

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio has ordered Akron-based FirstEnergy, tied to an alleged 60 million bribery scheme, to show whether it spent customer money on passage of the now tainted nuclear power plant bailout law.

The Ohio Consumers' Counsel last week asked the PUCO for an independent audit and investigation of FirstEnergy's activities surrounding the bill approved last year. An FBI investigation has resulted in the indictment of former Ohio House speaker Larry Householder and four others on racketeering charges.
