Rat Sightings Spike In Four Columbus Neighborhoods

Columbus Public Health reports a spike in rat sightings in the Linden, Clintonville, south side and Hilltop neighborhoods.

Officials say rats typically emerge in warmer weather, but this year construction and people improperly disposing of food sources are blamed for the spikes. Health officials say people should make sure trash containers are closed, keep pet food indoors, and prevent bird feed from spilling onto the ground. They also say clean up after pets because rats eat animal feces.
